Project Overview

The Challenge & Opportunity

Automotive workshops running multiple sites often rely on disconnected tools for stock, job cards, billing, and scheduling. BayFlow Workshop brings those workflows together—letting teams register garages, switch between locations, track parts inventory, log purchases, create service jobs, and view every appointment on a unified calendar.

Business Goals

  • Support multi-garage registration with seamless switching between locations
  • Centralize product inventory, purchases, and stock level tracking
  • Enable structured job creation for tires, parts, MOT, and labor tasks
  • Provide quick sales checkout alongside full service workflows
  • Display appointments and service jobs on a shared calendar view

Challenges

  • Modeling workshop operations across independent garage sites with shared users
  • Keeping parts inventory accurate across purchases, jobs, and quick sales
  • Supporting diverse job types—from MOT inspections to tire and labor services
  • Designing a calendar that handles overlapping appointments and job durations
  • Integrating payments and third-party APIs without disrupting daily shop floor work

Our Solution

We built a NestJS microservices backend with a React frontend, applying domain-driven design to separate inventory, jobs, billing, and scheduling concerns. PostgreSQL stores transactional workshop data, Stripe handles payments, and CI/CD pipelines on Render enable reliable deployments as new garage locations onboard.
