Project Overview

The Challenge & Opportunity

Organizers often juggle spreadsheets, social posts, and ad-hoc calendars to track what is on and where. EventNest is an event management system that unifies creation, approval, and discovery—letting users and administrators submit events, manage listings, and browse everything on an interactive map so operations and attendees share one source of truth.

Business Goals

  • Centralize event creation, editing, and publishing in one management system
  • Support dedicated submission flows for both users and administrators
  • Display managed events on an interactive map for location-based discovery
  • Give admins clear tools to review, update, and organize the event catalog
  • Replace scattered listing channels with a single operational hub

Challenges

  • Balancing open community submissions with admin review and quality control
  • Modeling event details, locations, and schedules for reliable management and map display
  • Keeping the map readable as the managed event catalog grows
  • Designing separate but consistent submission paths for users and admins
  • Avoiding duplicate or outdated listings across overlapping venues and dates

Our Solution

We built a Laravel event management platform with structured event models, dual submission workflows for community users and administrators, and interactive map views for discovery. Admins moderate and maintain the catalog while approved events surface geographically for browsing. MySQL stores event and location data, giving EventNest a maintainable foundation for day-to-day event operations and map-based discovery.
